This is not a tour — it’s simply how I live here in Lapland. Life here follows the seasons, the weather, and the rhythm of nature.

Over time, I’ve seen that many people are looking for something more real — not just to visit Lapland, but to actually experience it.

That’s why I created this day.

Your Day in Porokari, Lapland

Off-Trail Snowmobiling

After a short introduction, we head straight into the forest. No marked routes — we ride off-trail, following natural terrain and local tracks. This is not about speed, but about moving through the landscape the way locals do.

Living from the Land

During the day, you’ll experience how daily life works in the north:

• Checking passive fishing lines under the ice
• Ice fishing with rod and lure
• Making fire in Arctic conditions

Simple, practical skills — part of everyday life here.

Puukko & Practical Skills

Learn how to sharpen a Puukko, the traditional Finnish knife used in daily life.

Slow Moments & Stories

We take time to slow down:

• Warm drinks by the fire
• Sledge sliding
• Stories about life in Lapland

Fire, Food & Atmosphere

We gather at the historic Old School.

• Campfire snacks & hot drinks
• Traditional reindeer or salmon soup
• Fresh fish or Loimulohi by the fire

No rush. Just good food and good company.

Into the Arctic Night

As the light fades:

• We check the fishing lines once more
• Head out to search for the Northern Lights (when conditions allow)

When Lapland Decides

Some moments can’t be planned. Depending on the conditions, we may experience rare elements of Arctic life — but nothing is guaranteed.
