This Is Not a Tour

A full day built around you, combining local traditions, wilderness and the people who make Lapland feel like home.

Born and Raised in Lapland

I'm Paul, born and raised in Finnish Lapland. The forests, frozen lakes and changing seasons aren't places I discovered—they've always been home.

Everything we'll do together is part of the life I've always known. Travelling through the forest, making fire, checking fishing nets beneath the ice—these aren't activities. They're everyday life here.

Over the years I've met people looking for something more than another excursion. They wanted to experience Lapland through the eyes of someone who calls this place home.

That's why I created this day.

Not as a tour.

But as an invitation into my Lapland.

Private Arctic Wilderness Day

Leave the tourist routes behind and spend the day in the Arctic wilderness the way locals have done for generations.

No buses. No crowds. No fixed schedule.

We'll follow nature, the weather and the rhythm of the day, allowing every experience to unfold naturally.

Some things can be planned. The best moments usually can't.

Your Day in Porokari

No two days are ever the same, but this is how a day together often unfolds.

Off-Trail Snowmobiling

After a short introduction, we'll leave the marked snowmobile trails behind and head into the forest. We'll cross frozen lakes, follow quiet local routes and travel through landscapes few visitors ever see.

This isn't about speed. It's about experiencing Lapland the way locals do.

Living From the Land

Life in Lapland has always been closely connected to nature. Many of the small traditions you'll experience today are still part of everyday life here.

Together we might:

  • Check fishing nets beneath the ice
  • Try traditional ice fishing
  • Learn how to make fire in Arctic conditions

Simple skills. Real traditions. Everyday life.

Puukko & Practical Skills

The Finnish Puukko is more than just a knife. For generations, it's been an essential part of everyday life in Lapland. You'll learn how it's used, how to sharpen it and why it's still carried by many locals today.

A simple tool with a long tradition.

An ordinary winter afternoon in Porokari. Sometimes the best moments happen around the fire.

Around the Fire

The fire is where the day naturally slows down.

We'll gather around the flames, warm up with hot drinks and prepare simple food together. Depending on the season, we may cook traditional salmon soup, reindeer soup, fresh fish or Loimulohi over the open fire.

As we eat, I'll share stories about growing up in Lapland, local traditions and everyday life in the north.

No restaurant. No timetable. Just fire, good food and real conversation.

Into the Arctic Night

As daylight fades, Lapland changes once again. If the conditions are right, we'll head back into the wilderness to look for the Northern Lights.

Some evenings the sky comes alive. Others remain perfectly still. Both are part of Lapland.

When Lapland Decides

Nature doesn't work on a schedule. Some days we discover fresh animal tracks. Some days snowfall transforms the landscape overnight. Some evenings the Northern Lights appear without warning.

Nothing is guaranteed.

That's exactly what makes every day unforgettable.

Why This Isn't a Typical Tour

  • Private by Design
Every day is private, allowing us to adapt the experience to you, not the other way around.
  • Born and Raised Here
You'll explore Lapland with someone who has called this place home all his life.
  • No Fixed Itinerary
Nature sets the pace. Every day unfolds differently.
  • Small Moments Matter
The memories people talk about most are often the ones nobody planned.

Shape Your Day

No two travellers are the same.

If there's something you've always wanted to experience, we'll do our best to make it part of your day. That might mean spending more time fishing, capturing the Arctic landscape, visiting a trusted reindeer farm, meeting huskies or simply enjoying another hour around the fire.

Whatever the day looks like, it will always be shaped around your interests, the season and the conditions. We only work with local people we know personally—people who respect nature, care for their animals and share the same values we do.

Your day will never follow a script. It will be shaped around you.
